Dan's children's books are based on real children and animals. We hope that young readers and their parents will enjoy the stories and appreciate the life lessons.

What a wonderful book to read to children on a snowy day! This story would inspire children to focus on the changing seasons that occur throughout the year as well as the fun they can have playing with their pet(s) as they experience these seasons. This book would be a fabulous motivating tool for discussions and follow up writing exercises especially in teaching the four seasons. Each day/week the parent or teacher could present a different season such as Spring, Summer, Fall, or Winter and the children could discuss the changes that occur and make a book for each season with illustrations.and sentences about what they like to do with their pet(s) during the different seasons and how they help them adapt. The possibilities are endless because the children will be more inspired to think about the changes in each season as they relate these changes to help a real or imaginary pet cope

Children of all ages would relate to and adore this heart warming book about responsibility, love and adversity. This book would be a valuable resource in the home or the classroom to use as a springboard to begin discussions about owning a pet and the importance of assuming responsibility for caring for the pet. The discussion could include acknowledging that pets as well as people have accidents and some injuries cause the pet or person to have special needs. Children will love to write a story or make a book about their pet and paint or draw pictures to illustrate it. If there are children that do not have a pet they would love to write about a pet they would like to own. As a 33 year career teacher/administrator I would have enjoyed having such a heartwarming story to encourage classroom discussions and writing exercises. The possibilities are endless for using this book as a resource whether it be in the home or the classroom.

This children's book is a priceless gem! Children have always been fascinated by trains! They immediately are filled with the excitement and adventure of riding a train in order to go to new places and experience new activities outside of their community. This book would be a valuable resource to prepare children for a field trip and allow them to experience this mode of transportation. Discussions can be had about who drives the engine and what makes it go, the different cars and how they are used, especially the red caboose. Some children may have small train sets and can bring them to school to share. Discussions about the importance of the ticket agent and the conductor and the fact that a train travels on tracks is exciting to children. They would have fun in making a class mural showing these important aspects about a train. They would love to use shoeboxes, for example and make their own train. The ideas for parents and teachers to motivate children and experience this mode of transportation are unlimited.

Another charming book for children by Dan Basalone. Dogs love to play with their canine friends. The children at home or in the classroom can relate unlimited incidents of how their pet dogs love to play with other dogs. However, they can all relate to how dogs and/or other animals playing together can lead to motivating each other to break the rules and explore beyond their boundaries. Together they can be very mischievous! It was too tempting when the two playmates discovered the gate was left open! Children will love to share stories about their pets escaping from their homes and getting lost and the mishaps that occurred. Sometimes the pets get into very dangerous situations and even fatalities can occur. The importance of assuming your responsibilities for your pets will naturally become part of the conversation. Children will love to write a story about their pet(s) and share some of the experiences they have had trying to keep their pet(s) safe.

This book is an outstanding overview of the five domains of learning and how to implement them into the classroom. This book should be read by every school administrator, teacher, board member and university faculty involved in the training of teachers. It provides a concise review of the valuable steps needed to be utilized in order to be successful when teaching children to acquire the skills necessary for learning. By integrating the five domains of learning into the teaching process children will be successful and experience achievement, recognition, freedom and fun. The many children's books written by Dan Basalone are excellent tools to use in the classroom for putting into practice the integration of the five domains of learning.
